Missing you in Ohio

Hey, Scientist Lady:

I could live with the thirty-degree weather.
I could live with the ridiculous out-sized pickup truck.
I could live with a hotel that shares a designer with many of today's finest penitentiaries.
I could even live where going to the gym is a bit like the quest for the grail.

But...

I wouldn't last five minutes without you.

I miss you.

Your Michael

Missing you in Alaska

Hey, Scientist-Lady!

This is how I feel without you in Alaska:

This, however, is how I feel knowing I'll get to see you tomorrow!

I'm off to breakfast, but will write more soon.

I love you.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm really glad you let kat, gabe, and I share the wii.

I suspect that this will give us a whole new dramatic arena in which to argue!

Seriously, you're super-nice for sharing, and I am grateful.

Here's what I'll look like after playing wii tennis a bunch:

And you thought I was funny looking before!!

Your michael.

Stuck in the airport with you

This is how I would feel if I were stuck in this airport without you:

But, this is how I feel with you here with me:

Thanks for making this a fantastic trip. Without you, San Diego would have just been another town.

Love,
me

How do I thank thee...

Let me count the ways. Thanks for:

  1. making paninis with me. I love 'em, the kids love 'em, and they're not just for breakfast anymore!
  2. helping set up the Cooley Aquarium. Yes, the attrition rate in there is coming up on fifty percent, but maybe that's a more valuable lesson than "we're all different, but we can still live together in peace." We'll do "we're all different, and sometimes you eat someone else, and sometimes someone else eats you" instead!
  3. helping me turn my place into a home. This place is never going to win any awards from Martha Stewart, but Kat and Gabe need better than a military barracks, and you've helped me move from the latter towards the former.
  4. going to the auto show... with three kids! Outline the prospect of attending an auto show to most people, and they'd decline. Add the presence of the fearsome Cooley trio, and most Army Rangers would say, "No thanks." I think all of us had a good time, and that wouldn't have been the case without you.
But most of all, thanks for that grin at Luciano's. Anyone who can enjoy that level of "I told you so" and still sit through a huge meal with us is all right in my book.

I don't deserve you, but I'm sure as hell glad I've got you. And for that, I'm a thankful guy.

A Great Saturday

Hey, Scientist Lady,

I had a great Saturday with you. I want to thank you for your help with the Apartment, the shopping, the eating at Luciano's, and all of the other stuff not fit for print.

I am excited about the Condo open house tomorrow.

I'm really lucky to get to spend the weekend with you, and want you to know that I KNOW THAT!!

You're the bee's knees.

Hows da Hoops?

I'm missing my girl!

Quite a match tonight between Lazio (formerly of Rome) and Napoli (formerly of Naples)! A young upstart named Gabe (who goes by Anakin, oddly) scored two goals!!

Only one, however, was for his team.

But don't let that diminish the accomplishment!

Meanwhile, Kat is practicing on the "Double Bass", as she keeps calling it. "It's not a fish," I remind her. "Fish aren't nearly that expensive."

So she's practicing downstairs, and I keep thinking something very horrible is about to happen to young Anakin Skywalker and I while he takes his bath... It's like have a foreboding soundtrack playing in the background all the time!

Later, tater.
